When the Block Lamp was introduced in 1996, design juries and lovers of beautiful objects took it to their hearts, where it has remained. The Block Lamp, designed by Harri Koskinen, is still one of Design House Stockholm's most popular products.
With its unique features and Scandinavian touch, it has been part of MoMA, Museum of Modern Art in New York's collection since 2000.
Each part of the block lamp is hand cast and it undergoes an extremely long cooling process to avoid cracking later on if exposed to strong temperature changes.
The matt bulb shape is sand-blasted. The electric bulb is included. EU standard.

Born in Karstula, Finland, in 1970. His furniture and versatile design objects have aroused great international interest. Harri Koskinen strives to find solutions that are innovative for both the consumer and producer. One example of this is his great success, Block Lamp. Apart from his collaboration with iittala, Harri Koskinen works with companies like Issey, Oluce, Miyake, Schmidinger Modul, and Montina.
He was recently named Young Designer of the Year in Finland.
