Marco Colombo
The architects and designers Marco Colombo and Mario Barbaglia opened in 1975 their own architecture practice in Milan, which initially has dedicated to interior design projects for commercial spaces. At the base of their projects there’s a particular attention to health, energy conservation and sustainability. In 1984 the practice started a collaboration with PAF (which then has become Italiana Luce and present days Nemo Cassina): from this experience are born the table lamp DOVE and many other innovative products. Among the numerous prizes and acknowledgments we’d like to remember, in 1985 the presence of the table lamp DOVE in the permanent collection of the “Cooper-Hawitt Museum” in New York and in the Museo Rufino Tamayo” in Mexico city. In 1987 and 1992 they have received the “Oscar des Architectes d’Interiérieur” by the “Salon International du Luminaire” of Paris, in 1988 the cover of the American edition of the International Design Yearbook and the prizes “Product of the year” and “Best Residential Lighting Product” in 1993.
