Vibeke Skar & Ida Noemi

Ida Noemi and Vibeke Skar are freelance designers based in Oslo. Both have combined their education at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design with studies abroad. Skar studied industrial and communication design in Florence, Italy, while Noemi spent several terms at the Strate School of Design near Paris. Both designers root their practice in traditional materials, and have created furniture, lighting and interior accessories. Their works typically reveal new expressions for traditional materials and update classic product types with original details. Both designers share a passion for Norwegian nature, culture and craft traditions. They were the inspirations behind Fyr, their first joint design for Northern Lighting. Vibeke Skar’s Evergreen pendant lamp, designed collaboratively with Jens Praet, is also a part of our collection.
