Matti Klenell
Matti Klenell was born in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1972. He graduated
with an MFA from Konstfack, Stockholm in 1999. In 2000 he set up
his own studio that today work with design commissions for clients such as
Moooi, Källemo, Iittala, David Design, Muuto and Örsjö. Apart from working on
projects to be serial produced Matti Klenell also develop and produce limited
edition works preferably in glass.
From 2000-2006 Matti Klenell served as Head of Department at the
Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm. Today he is frequently invited to teach
and give lectures at design universities in Sweden and abroad. In
2003 Matti Klenell was awarded the Ljunggren Design Prize. His work is
represented in the permanent collections of the Swedish National Museum,
Stockholm, Sweden, Museum of Design and Applied Arts, Gardabaer, Iceland and The
Röhsska Museum, Gothenburg, Sweden.
