As far as Konstantin Grcic was concerned, the thought of designing the 1001st tame chair version with four legs was just too boring. Instead he created from the intelligent combination of two wooden shells a new type of chair with high sculptural quality. Venus is free of ballast in every respect: in simple, bright wood, with smooth,

clear contours and astonishingly lightweight. An exciting new chapter in the long history of sitting – and one of the most aesthetic options for giving that special touch to a conference room or dining room.

Chair in moulded wood with real wood veneer, stained and lacquered.

Rubber grip and base profile in rubber. For Details, colours and European standard tests please contact us directly.

  • Konstantin Grcic

Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich, Germany in 1965. After training as a cabinet maker at Parnham College in England he studied design at the Royal College of Art in London from 1988-1990.

Konstantin Grcic creates industrial products widely described as pared down, simple, minimalist.
What sets him apart from the minimalism in fashionalble currency today is that he defines function in human terms, combining maximum formal strictness with considerable mental acuity and humor.

Many of his products have received prestigious design awards. In October 2000 Konstantin Grcic is nominated "Guest of Honour" at the Interieur Biennial in Kortrijk/Belgium presenting an extensive show of his work. The MAYDAY-lamp produced by FLOS was selected into the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and won the Compasso D'Oro in 2001.
