The fixture emits a glare-free, soft and comfortable illumination. The metal shade versions direct the light directly downwards and create a pleasant illumination due to the inner white painted shade and the reflection from the trumpet shaped stem. The opal acrylic version leaves a diffused comfortable light atmosphere due to the translucent shade, the downward reflection from the inner shade and the reflection from the trumpet stem.

Panthella  New middle-sized table lamp

Panton was known for his love of floating forms, colourful environment, patterns and systems. His designs are innovative with the use of new technologies, materials and production systems available after World War II. Panton was influenced by the functionalism especially through his mentors Poul Henningsen and Arne Jacobsen.

Panton created practical designs that were of use, but still he enjoyed exaggerating and pushing the limits and boundaries of normal people’s lifestyle. Experience as a theme is important in relation to Panton’s work and what stimulated him to design as he did. 320 – New middle-sized table lamp

  • Verner Panton

The Danish architect Verner Panton caused a stir in the 60ies and kept on designing successful products until his death in 1998. Times they were a-changin? - and Panton’s innovatory ideas and daring use of modern materials and lavish colours were an instant hit. Panton became synonymous with sensational textile, furniture and lighting design. Works like the ‘Cone Chair’ and the ‘Globe Light’ are eternal Scandinavian design icons!
